Refer a Child

Edmund Rice Camps NSW provides programs and support for young people aged 6-15 years of age. The aim of these programs is to provide an opportunity for young people to have an experience they otherwise would not be able to access. They may be experiencing some form of disadvantage or marginalisation, through financial or emotional hardship, social or geographical isolation, and would benefit from a week-long respite opportunity, with a chance to develop social skills, make friends, and learn positive behaviours from our enthusiastic volunteers and staff.

We are also often able to cater for some challenging behaviours and remain committed to considering all applications for children to come on camp, however please remember our camps are run primarily by young adult volunteers and our ability to cater to needs will depend on the age and skill levels of our volunteer leaders.

Our camps are not designed to be primarily a respite for families, but for children who are:

  • Suffering from significant marginalisation and/or disadvantage
  • Who are in the age range specified for each camp
  • Who do not have access to recreational experiences
  • Who can manage their own personal care in an manner consistent with their age
  • Whose behaviours can be managed in a large group environment

It is VERY IMPORTANT that you provide evidence of need in your referrals forms, as we often have many more referrals than places on camp, and will respond to those referrals which indicate a clear need for our program.

If you have questions, please don't hesitate to contact our friendly staff.
